Juan Camilo

Juan Camilo: 

Juan has been a delight to have in our home. He hasn't been here for quite a month yet but we are all very attached to him and feel like he is part of our family already. Juan came here from Cali, Colombia population is 2 million people so moving to Pavillion with pop 100 was a BIG change for him but he has adapted quickly to it. The first night he stayed here he said that it was very dark in his room and he wasn't use to it because at his house he has the street lights shinning in his room all night haha. He has NEVER seen snow so we are all SO excited for it to snow this year so Juan can see it and play in it for the first time. The coldest it gets in Cali is about 65 so he has never even been in the cold before :) He will be turning 18 December 27th. 

Some things He likes most: 

SOCCER he loves soccer. His "team" is Real Madrid. He is always watching them play on the computer and looking up any new photo's that they may have. He has shown me all of his favorite plays, photo's and players. We do not have soccer at Wind River but we're hoping to get him on the Riverton team this spring. He LOVES to be clean...hahaha! Loves to listen to music and dance, enjoys playing the Wii with us and board games. 

Food that he enjoys so far: 

Lasagna, sloppy joes, ham fried rice, hamburgers, Toast and jam, banana's and Coke. 

Things that he doesn't like so much: 

Drinking milk with a meal, country and rock music, cats and dogs (He just doesn't like to touch them), salami, American carrots, he doesn't like contention or physical contact sports (yes even football but he is willing to try to be the kicker cause they don't get tackled a lot) Doesn't like when Keegan and Kimber cry or when anyone yells, and he DOESN'T like to be dirty haha! 

There are many more things I will learn about Juan as he stays here longer. I am very excited that he is here and that we can show him our culture and the way we do things on our farm and in our community. I also really enjoy learning about his culture and he's been TRYING to teach me Colombian Spanish (Yes, there are many different Spanish languages) His family gets a kick out of us trying to speak Spanish as do we when they try and speak English. His parents are very great people with big hearts. They have taught Juan very good manners and they have high standards for him. Juan has an older sister Lissa that he gets along with very well too. They are all always thanking us for opening our home and heart to Juan. I love it when they skype because his family laughs a lot and it makes me laugh even though I don't know what they are saying haha! I will post more things as the time goes on and I learn more about him :)
